According to many, the most beautiful part of the Croatian Adriatic Coast is Makarska
Riviera . The combination of rocky mountains, green pine forests, white sandy beaches and
crystal blue sea, leaves every visitor in exaltation.
Arriving to the Makarska Riviera by boat is an unforgettable experience. You can also arrive
by land from the north, descenting from the A1 motorway in Šestanovac, and from southeast
passing Baćinska lakes.
The largest town of Makarska Riviera, with more than 13 thousand inhabitants, is Makarska
(35 km from Zaostrog), which is called the region from Graca to Brela. Makarska is a city
that lives off tourism and for tourism, the city of youth, sport and entertainment.
The geographical and traffic position of Makarska Riviera, and thus Zaostrog,
allows visitors half-day and day trips, visits to many natural, cultural and
other sights and places along the Dalmatian coast. If you like trips to the
islands we recommend island of Hvar (ferry from Drvenik – 3 km from Zaostrog,
the journey takes 30 min), Brač (ferry from Makarska – 35 km from Zaostrog),
Korčula (ferry from Drvenik – 3 km from Zaostrog, journey takes 2 hour and 30
min).
There is particularly interesting trip to the mountain Biokovo, where
are the marked hiking trails to the slopes and peaks of Biokovo ( Sv. Jure. –
1762 m )
